Abstract:
Summary:-This work declared that egg deformities considered majorproblems facing hatching and marketing of eggs. This conditionsusually seen associated with or without DROP in egg production. Eggdeformity was multifactorial syndromes which may be induced bysome viral and bacterial infection of layers, deficiency or imbalance ofcalcium and phosphorus and mycotoxicosis. A total of 124080 Isa Brown and Highline hens of various age, located in various farms at Sharkia and Ismailia govemorate sufferingfrom DROP in egg production and some egg deformities beside somesymptoms suggesting viral infection (either egg DROP syndrome orInfection Bronchitis or Newcastle disease) or Mycoplasmagallisepticum infection or calcium-phosphorus deficiencies ormycotoxicosis.6Some layers flocks located at Sharkia province were submitted toinvestigation of egg deformity syndrome. Egg DROP syndrome (EDs)induced 47% in the form of thin, soft-shell or shell less withdepigmentation of shell. The gross lesions revealed inactive ovaries, atrophied oviduct and enlarged-mottled liver. Microscopically, pouchshell-gland and hepatic cells showed diagnostic intranuclear inclusionbodies beside other lesions in ovaries and oviducts, lungs and spleen.Infectious bronchitis induced 8-10% egg deformities and greatDROP in egg production with some deformities as soft, rough-shelled ormisshaped or shell less eggs in addition to some respiratory signs.
