Abstract:
In this study, ten mature male rams aged 1 S - 18 months of age and weighing 40 - 4S kg.b.wt each were used. They were classified into 2equal groups each of five. Each ram in the first group was orallyadministered fish oil in a dose of 0.2 gm/kg. b.wt for 10 successive days.whereuach ram in the second group was given soyabean oil in the same dose and for the same period. Two blood samples were collected from each ram at zero time, andon 1 ”, 3rd, 7th and 14th day after oil administration. The first blood sample was collected in a clean sterile vialcontaining heparin (50 LU / ml) as anticoagulant to be used for separationof mononuclear leukocytes. The second blood sample was collected in a centrifuge tube. without anticoagulant for serum separation for assaying of total proteins and its fractions, immunoglobulins, lip 0 gram (total lipids, triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL-c and LDL-c.The obtained results were summarized as follow:1- Effect on serum total proteins and its fractions:Serum total proteins and gammaglobulins were significantlyelevated after the end of the 3rd 7th and 14th day post oil administrationwhereas, a - globulins were significantly increased on the 3rd and 14th daypost oil administration when compared with the pretreatment values. While serum albumin and J3 - globulins were non significantly changed.
