Abstract:
Internal parasites cause internal damage to horses. Theseparasites can be extremely damaging to horse’s internal systems,causing lowered disease resistance and gastero intestinal irritation(including colic), the effect of internal parasites are more evident inyoung horses.In Egypt, a great importance has been given to heath andmanagement of horses, as they are still used for riding, racing,exportation and working.A total of 1200 horses from different localities at Dakahliaprovince of both sexes during the period from June 2004 to May2006Their age varied from 3 months to 10 years out of them 362horses proved to be positive to internal parasites (30.17%).Studying the incidence of internal parasite infest horses in differentlocalites were Dekeness (23.91), Minyet El-Nasr (20.44%), Sherbin(36.890/0), Senbelwin (27.45%), Bani-Ebid (48.39%), EI-Manzala(45.95%), Belkas (33.31%) and Mehalyt-Dernna (32.14%). Theinfestation rate was highest (42.39) in horses blow 12 months andlowest (16.03) in the horses more than 5 years. The high level ofparasitic infestation (36.600/0) was found in winter and spring
