Abstract:
In the male reproductive system, the highest level of free L-carnitine in the human body are found in the epididymal fluid and exists as the free and acetylated form, which suggested strongly that free L-carnitine has an important role in sperm cell mechaMaterial: 90 subjected were studied including 60 infertile men in addition to 30 fertile controls. The infertile patients had a mean ± SD age of 38.9 ± 9.3 years, while the fertile group had a mean ± SD age of 39.2 ± 8.8.method : All patients and control incorporated in the study were subjected to the following: Careful history taking, Clinical examination With special attention to possible genetic and medical causes of infertility, Laboratory Investigations (Semen analysResult : L-carnitine, it was definitely found that infertile men have statistically significant less L-carnitine level than the fertile men526.0 + 137.49 versus 943.3 + 56.44, P = 0.0001.
