Pathological Studies on The Effects of Some Locust Insecticides On Rabbits

Abstract:
Forty-five New Zealand rabbits, of one kg body weight and two months age were used to study the pathological effects of some locust insecticides (chlorpyrifos and diflubenzuron) to evaluate the less toxic one. The rabbits were divided into 5 equal groups,were collected from liver, kidneys, lung, heart, brain, spleen, adrenalgland, stomach and small intestine and prepared for microscopicalexamination. No clinical signs were recorded among rabbits of groups2 and 4. Meanwhile rabbits of groups 3 and 5 showed reduction inbody weight 15 and 30 days P A besides salivation and lacrimationamong rabbits of gp (3) 45 days PA. No mortalities were recorded inall groups throughout the experimental period. Grossly, congestion was the common lesion in all groups 15, 30and 45 days P A. The lesions became severe 45 days P A and liverappeared pale, yellow or showed necrotic foci on it’s surface. Enlargedkidneys and adrenal gland, catarrhal inflammation of both gastric and
