Abstract:
• A number of 301 0 apparently healthy and naturally infected fishes offferent species (tilapia sp., catfish, carp sp., mullets and by ad were collected,om December 2000 to December 2003 from different fish farms in Egypt~bbassa, Wady El-Ryan fish farms & Damietta cages). These fishes wereibjected to full clinical, parasitological, bacterial, mycological andstopathological examinations.• Concerning the most common clinical signs, nearly all gill infectionsipeared mainly in the form of respiratory manifestations. The infested fishesiowed slow and surface swimming usually near Oxygen pupms besidelackness of the skin & . mass mortal ities.• With regards to postmortem lesions, the gills were either congested in acuteases or anaemic and pale with emaciation and excessive mucus secretion inhronic cases. excessive blood oozing was noticed in gills of 0. niloticus withcute eo-infection with V. anguillarum and A. caviae.• The parasitic infestations were found to be the major problem and the mostrevalent disease causative agents among cultured fish sp. Their percentagesvere 54.5 %,62.2 %, 44.4 %, 22.2 %,15.7 % and 10.5 % in adult tilpias, frys &ingerlings of tilapias, catfish, B. byad, mullets and carp sp. respectively.I. The isolated parasites were Trichodina, Monogenea, Henneguya sp., EMC oflentrocestus, Clinostomum and Prohemistomum sp.i• At Abbassa fish farms, Trichodina and Monogenea sp. were more prevalentmong frys & fingerlings of tilapias with a percentage of (63.2% & 66.2%) forrrichodina sp, and (17.2% & 14.6%) for Monogenea sp. respectively.’Ienneguya sp. was found only in catfish with a prevalence of 6.1 %. EMC of”entrocestus sp. were more prevalent among tilapia sp. with a percentage of;2.5 %. EMC of Clinostomum sp. were found only in tilapias with a prevalence)f21.3 %. While the EMC of Prohemistomum sp. were recorded in the gillirches of both tilapiaseccatfish with a percentage of3.1 % & 3.5 % respectively.
