Management of common laboratory animals with regard to its behaviors

Abstract:
This work was carried out on 600 wister albino rats,syrian hamsters and 200 English guinea pigs to invest-igate the behaviours of these animals and the best possi-ble methods of management •.1- Rat and hamster neonates were born rosy red in colorwith a sealed fingers, ears and eyes. In rat the hairswas present only in vibressae and above each eye whilein hamster the body was covered with a very fine hairsin addition to the hairs of vibrissae. Incisors werepresent only in hamster while it was absent in rat.The young guinea pig were born fully furred, withopen ears and eyes, erupted incisors, separated fingersand obvious 2 teats.In rat and hamster, ears began to open at 3.52 ± 0.07and 3.34± 0.05, tea~, began to appear at 3.88 ± 0.30 and3.94 ± 0.17, hairs began to grow at 3.94 +0.26 and atbirth, fingers Separated at 5.83 ± 0.13 and 6.33 ± 0.09,incisors erupted at 12.10 ±•0.12 and at birth, appearanceof the adult body colouration occurred at 12.38 +0.10 and2.28 ± 0.06, eyes opened at 15.43 ± 0.17 and 14~97 ± 0.11,start of eating process was at 17.70 ± 0.16 and 8.63±0.07days respectively. The testes was descended at 25.77± 1.8018.00 ± 0.29 and 31.56 ± 1.12 days in male rat, hamsterand guinea pig respectively.
