Abstract:
} Dogs, cats (1000 for each) & 1000 humans (800 infantsand young children and 200 school children, adolescents, adults and’ geriatrics) were subjected toexamination for dipylidiasis by recovery of gravidproglottids, anal swabs and fecal examinations. Fecalexamination was carried out by concentration-flotationtechnique and sugar-flotation one.2} Gravid proglottids were easy to be recovered byexamination of perianal region in both pets and humansand diapers in infants and young children, but failure offinding gravid segments did not indicate freedom of petsor humans from infection.3} Anal swabs examination was the more sensitive methodfor detection of infection, then followed by fecalexamination especially concentration-flotationtechnique.4} The incidence rate of dipylidiasis in dogs, cats and manin Gharbia governorate during the year 1995 was 30.4,15.1 & 1.2 respectively.
