Abstract:
The growth promoters are substances when fed to animals improveanimals’ production performance parameters. Antibiotic growth promoters (as flavomycin), probiotic, prebiotic and synbiotics (feeding probioticmicroorganisms together with prebiotic substances) are examples of growthpromoters - The present study was carried out to evaluate the effects or’ ’antibiotic growth promoter (flavomycin), probiotic (Avi-bac’”), prebiotic (Nutricell-MOS®) and their combinations on growth performance parameters (bodyweight, body weight index, body weight gain, feed consumption, feedconversion ratio and mortality rate). Their effects on some blood biochemicalparameters, immunity indices, giblets weights, relative weights and lengths of intestinal segments and histopathological changes were also investigated. in~owing broiler chickens. One hundred and sixty five, one-day old, unsexed Hubbard chicks wereused. Five chicks were randomly selected and slaughtered by cervicalslccation for collection of blood sample at one day old. The reminder chicks, I)ne hundred and sixty chicks, were leg banded and individually weighed. The”n odd chicks (the highest and the lowest weights) were discarded. One•. ~ ;; t • mdred and fifty chicks were distributed by Ranking technique (i.e. usingeights of birds in grouping) into six groups twenty five chicks each. The firstup was fed on ’drug free ration (basal diet) and kept as a control group. Theond group was fed on basal diet mixed with flavomycin (Pharmastim 4 %®)mg/kg ration). The third group was fed ’on basal diet mixed with pro bioticIvi-bac®) (500 mg/kg ration). The fourth group was fed on basal diet mixed ifu prebiotic (Nutricell-MOS®) (1 gm/kg ration). The fifth group was fed
