Abstract:
Escherichia coli affect poultry industry causmg senous economic losses achieved by loss of body weight, low egg production, high morbidity and mortality rates. The control of thismiocrobe is an important for poultry farms and depends primarily onthe prophylactic use of some antimicrobial agents such asclindamycin, spectinomycin, clindaspectin . etc. Clindamycin is a member of lincosamide antibiotic, whichused in treatment of air saculitis, mycoplasmosis and colibacillosisin poultry. Spectinomycin is one of amino cyclitol antibiotic which relatedto aminoglycosides. It is effective in the treatment of E.coliinfection, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis and mycoplasmosis inpoultry. Clindaspectin is the combination between two bacteriostaticantibiotics (clindamycin and spectinomycin). It is more effective intreatment of colibacillosis in poultry than clindamycin orspectinomycin. The present work was conducted to evaluate the antibacterialeffect of clindamycin, spectinomycin or clindaspectin in healthy andexpermintally infected chicks with E.coli. The sensitivity of isolatedE.coli strains of avian origin is investigated in vitro to differentantimicrobial agents. The effect of therapeutic dose of clindamycin(0.25 gm! L of drinking water for 5 successive days),
