Uses of ultrasonography in evaluation of acute abdominal pain in Equines

In this study a total number of fifty eight horses of both sexes with average age of 6-10 years were used to investigate different types of acute abdominal pain. A wide set of diagnostic procedures including: physical examination of each horse, laboratoryThe study was concerned for study of gastrointestinal and non- gastrointestinal abdominal pains. So, horses with signs of acute abdominal pain were classified into six groups and each compared to control group. Ten horses were clinically healthy obtained hematological and biochemical analysis. Ultrasonography was applied to all horses used in this study and compared to laboratory data and physical examination findings for obtaining a prognosis.
