Abstract:
Aluminum has been certainly considered as a neurotoxic agent. It also has an effect on bone formation and remodeling and haemopoietic tissue as well as its effect on the kidney function. Oral aluminum administration during pregnancy produces a syndrome inAged garlic extract (AGE) is an alternate source of fresh garlic, which is odorless and richer in antioxidants than the fresh bulb which found to be safe and effective in providing health benefits. It has been found to protect DNA from damage. The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of AGE as an alternative to other chelating agents especially DFO which is clinically used for treatment of aluminosis. DFO has been proved to be a teratogen and has an adverse effect on the embryoThis study was conducted in two experimentsA- Investigation the antidotal effect of AGE against the teratogenic effects of aluminum nitrate nonahydrate.Twenty-four mature pregnant rats were randomly divided into four groups each of six animals. The first group used as a negative control and administered deionized water from 6th : 15th day of pregnancy. The second group orally administered 1 gm/kg b.wt AG
