Abstract:
I vermectin (a mixture of 22, 23 dihydroavermectin B 1 a with minoramounts of 22, 23 dihydroavermctin BIb) is one of the most successfulveterinary antipariasitic drugs. It has parasitocidic activity and is used asthe main substances of insectoacaronematocids. In humans I vermectin isthe drug of choice for the treatment of onchocerciasis (African feverblinders and lymphatic filariasis).Clorsulon (Clorsulon has a chemical structure of 4-amino- 6- trichloroethenyl- 1.3- benzenedi-Sulfonamide), It is the most Potentfashiolicide drug. This work was conducted to evaluate the possible effect of the twodrugs, given either singly or in combination on developing rat foeti.The effect of therapeutic dose of Ivermectin and/or Clorsulon on reproductive efficiency of female rats:Seventy mature pregnant rats were divided into seven groups eachof ten animals. The first group was used as control. The second groupwas subcutaneously injected with therapeutic dose of ivermectin0.2mg/200 gm B.wt. on the 6th day of gestation, the third group wassubcutaneously injected ~ith the same dose of clorsulon 0.2mg/200 gmB.wt. on 6th day of gestation., the fourth group was injectedsubcutaneously with therapeutic dose of (Ivrmectin/ Clorsulon) 0.2mg/200 gm B.wt. on the 6th day of gestation. The fifth group was injectedsubcutaneously with therapeutic dose of Ivermectin 0.2/200 gm Bwt. onthe lOth day of gestation., the sixth group was injected subcutaneouslywith therapeutic dose of clorsulon 0.2mg/ 200 gm B. wt on the lOth day of
