Effect Of Marbofloxacin And Theprobiotic (Nutrilac) In Chickens

The present study was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of intramuscular injection of marbofloxacin (l0 mg/kg b.wt) and nutrilac (3 ml/litre) in drinking water for 5 successive days against experimentally E.coli infected chickens. In addition, to studythat, the tested bacteria were highly susceptible to marbofloxacin.2- The minimum bactericidal concentration (:tv1BC) of marbofloxainagainst E.coli 078 serotype of avian origin was 0.01 ug/ml. 3- Marbofloxacin posses a potent inhibitory effects against tested bacteria compared with other tested antimicrobial agent, which tested bacteria were very highly sensitive to the drug ..B- Antibacterial effect in vivo:I-Clinical symptoms: Infected non treated chickens revealed some clinical symptoms (ruffled feather, depression, diarrhoea, loss of appetite). Treatment with marbofloxacin improved symptoms of the disease. While infected birdstreated with nutrilac, symptoms of the disease still appeared.
