Abstract:
This work was carried out to determine various causes of enteritis anddiarrhoea in sheep and its effect on blood picture and serum bloodparameters with applying of some treatment regimes and evaluation of itsefficacy.The study was carried out on 248 diarrhoeic sheep which wereclassified into two age groups:I-Group 1: Diarrhoeic sheep (lambs) under 3 months age.It contains 69 diarrhoeic lambs, Classified according to clinicalcondition into two subgroups:Subgroup A:- It contains 28 lambs suffering from diarrhoea andfever which include two groups:-(l)Subgroup (1) Bacterial diarrhoea:-It includes 19 diarrhoeic sheep suffering from diarrhoea and feverwith bacteriological isolation of Ecoli, Salmonella, proteus andenterobcter species.Blood picture showed high significant decrease in RBCs count andHb. concentration but there was high significant increase in WBCs countwith marked neutrophilia and lymphocytopaenia. PCV% was notinfluenced.Serum sodium, potassium, chlorides, bicarbonates, total proteinsand zinc were highly significant decreased. Serum alkaline phosphataseand GGT were increased in highly significant values. Copper level wasnot changedTreatment trials with enrofloxacine and ampicillin together withfluid therapy resulted in improvement in clinical condition and bloodparameters.
