Abstract:
Bacteriological examination of a total of 225 samples obtained from chickens and cow milk revealed that 128 Specimens harboured staphylococci 56.80/0. the highest incidence was noticed among samples obtained from chickens 94.60/0 meanwhile such incidence A total of 71 staphylococcal strains isolated from chickens were tested for coagulase production revealed 21 isolates coagulase positive staphylococci (29.6%) and 50 isolates coagulase negative staphylococci(70.4%). Meanwhile a total of 57 staphylococcal strains isolated from Milk samples were examined for coagulase production revealed 12 isolates of C.P .s. 21 % and 45 isolates of C.N.s. 790/0.Out a total of 33 C.P.S strains, 32 produced DNase with an incidenceof 970/0. Meanwhile out a total of 95 C.N .s. strains only 22 strains produced I DNase. With an incidence of 230/0.Out a total of 33 C.P.s .. isolates, 1 I (33.3%) produced lipaseMeanwhile only 10 (10.5%) out of95 C.N.s. showed lipolytic activity.A total of 33 C.P.s. out of these ,29 (87.9%) decomposed Mannitolmeanwhile 64 (67.3%) out of95 C.N.s. do it .
