Abstract:
One hundred random samples of market raw and pasteurized milk (50 of each)were collected from different localities in Domiate Govemorate.A survey was conducted to detect the bacteriological quality of raw andpasteurized milk samples [Psychrotrophic count, Proteolytic psychrotrophic count, Staphylococci count, isolation and identification of Staphylococcus aureus, Coliformscount, isolation and identification of existed coliforms and isolation and identification ofYersinia spp.].The obtained results revealed that the raw and pasteurized milk samples provedto be contaminated with psychrotrophic spp. at a percentage of 100% and 70%respectively, with mean values of 8.82 x 107 ± 2.14x 107 and 1.58x 103 ± 0.53x 103 Iml respectively. The percentages -of proteolytic psychrotrophic spp. in the examined raw and pasteurized milk samples were 80% and 46% respectively, with mean values of 3.1Citrobacter freundii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Kl. Oxytoca, Enterobacteraerogenes and Ent. cloaca could be isolated from 30%, 14%, 10%,24%, and 14% of raw milk samples respectively and 8%, 6%, 0%, 16% and 8% of pasteurized milk samples respectively.
