Abstract:
Two hundred and eighteen mature albino rats of both sexes (190-200gm b.wt.)were used in this investigation to study the effect of determination of the oral LD50 (acute toxicity), teratogenicity, and its effect on male fertility as well as pathologicalexamination of the different organs from 1 to 6 months (acute and chronic toxicity). Experiment No.1 determination the oral LD50 (acute toxicity) by Using eighty mature rats of both sexes were used in these study. They were administered Dithane M-45. Toxirecorded. After 24 hours of administration, mortality rate and different successive graded doses employed were recorded. The LD50 of dithane was calculated Is5.187.5 mg/kg/.b.wt Experiment No 2 studying the teratogenic potency of Dithane M-45 in this«peri!estation the female’s rats were killed and then the ovary and the uterus werexamined and the uterine horns promptly exposed to morphological examinationere carried on the pregnant females rats. Skeletal examination of the eviscerated foeti, which preserved foramination of any abnormalities in the shape or in size and absence of bones.
