Role of Acid -Base Balance in Diagnosis and Treatment of Some Diseases in Farm Animals

Abstract:
Field study: Was included on 51 calves classified into the following groups:Group I : 15 apparently healthy calves.Group 11 : 17 calves suffering from pneumonia. Summary Group III : 14 calves showed diarrhoea with different degrees of dehydration.Group IV : 5 calves showed pneumoenteritis.In addition to 15 cows grouped into:Group I : 10 apparently healthy cows.Group 11 : 5 cows suffering from Gossypol toxicity. Experimental study:It was carried out on 4 camels exposed to water deprivation for 30 days then, rehydrated. Blood, serum and faecal samples were obtained from all testedanimals and subjected for microscopical examination and laboratoryanalysis in addition to, nasal and faecal swabs were examinedbacteriologically in all diseased calves to determine the caustivenucroorgamsms. Bacteriological examination of rectal swabs obtained from enteric calves revealed that the isolated pathogenes were E.coli, Salmonella spp.while nasal swabs obtained from pneumonic calves revealed that theisolated pathogen were E.coli, Pseuand Staphylococcus spp.
