Abstract:
Summary:- Two hundred and thirty nine mycoplasma isolates and 38acholeplasma isolates could be isolated from 300 naturally infectedducks, 100 fresh infertile duck eggs and 100 dead in shell duck embryoscollected from different localities of Dakahlia Governorate .Serological identi fication for the above mentioned isolates werecarried out and could be serotyped into the following (108) M. anatis,(101) M. gallisepticum, (28) A. laidlawii while the remaining isolateswere untyped mycoplasma and acholeplasma isolates. One hundred serum samples were collected from naturally infectedducks for detection of antibodies against M. gallisepticum and M. anatis. The results of SPA test were (48%) and (45%) for M. ariatis and M.gallisepticum respectively while the results obtained by HI test were(37%) and (34%) for M. anatis andM. gall isepticum respectively. The antibiotic sensitivity tests were carried out for the isolatedstrains of M. anatis and M. gallisepticum against different antibiotics. The obtained results revealed that these strains were highly sensitive forenrofloxacin, norfloxacin, lincospectin and tylosin, less sensitive forstreptomycin, erythromycin and resistant for nal idixic acid. The mortality rate in experimentally inoculated embryos with M.anatis and M. gallisepticum were 56.6% and 46.6% respectively. Whilethe same strains cause no death in experimentally infected duckling. Themain observed symptoms were nasal discharge, lacrmation, sneezing andconjunctivitis.
