Some Studies On Trace Elements And Its Effect On The Immune Response In Sheep

The present experimental work was planned to study the effect of Seand Zn on the immune response in sheep and lasted for 45 days.A total number of fifteen clinically healthy local breed ewes (non-pregnant) 2.5 - 3.5 years old with average body weight of 50-60 kg wereused in this experimental study, which belonging to private farm at EI-Mollak, Abo-Hammad city, Sharkia Governorate. All ewes were clinicallyexamined and routine fecal and blood examination were carried out for thedetection of any blood and internal parasites and then they were dividedinto 3 groups:Group I: Five ewes (control group) were vaccinated with F11D vaccineonly.Group 11: Five ewes (Se-injected group) were vaccinated with FIv1Dvaccine and simultaneously injected S.C. with Na selenitesolution at zero time, then at the days 7 & 15 of experiment.Group Ill: Five ewes (Zn-injected group) vaccinated with F11D vaccineand simultaneously injected I1V with Zn sulphate solution at zerotime of the experiment then at the days 7 and 15 of experiment.Two blood samples were taken at first day of injection, then after 7,15, 30 and 45 days.
