Pathologic Studies On The Bacterial Diseases Affected The Liver Of Poultry

Abstract:
One thousand and forty chickens of different breed (native, cobb, hubard, and avian) with ages ranged from. 3-150 days old showing symptoms of commonest bacterial diseases, which infect theliver of poultry, were collected from different 17 farms in Sharkia andDakahlia province. Four hundred and forty cases of diseased chickens werecollected from different city of Sharkia province of 6 farms wereinfected by salmonellosis from different breed (native + hubard) atages 3-15 days. The liver showed congestion and small necrotic foci,which microscopically appeared as multiple areas of coagulativenecrosis, dialated hepatic sinusoides containing pale easinophiliccytoplasm (oedema) and apoptosis in the hepatic cells and few portalareas heavily infiltrated with mononuclear cells, lymphocytes,macrophages and proliferation of bile ductules. Also, 240 cases of hubard, cobb and avain were infected withcolibacil1osis were collected from 5 farms from different city ofSharkia province. The liver of infected birds revealed gross lesion inthe form of perihepatitis, thickening of hepatic capsule by whitishglistening membrane, while the hepatic tissue appear slightly firm inconsistency and enlarged with round border and blood oozed from cutsurface and microscopically showed presence of fibrinous threads inthe hepatic capsule. Also presence of erythrocytes and oedema wereseen in the hepatic parenchyma, which gradually replaced by fibrinoustissue infiltrated with leuckocytes mainly mononuclear cells beside
