Abstract:
Summary:- In a trial to investigate the current status of IBV infection amongchicken broilers in Sharkia Governorate, Egypt. Thirty flocks werechosen with no history of vaccination against any serotype of IBV.Those flocks were experienced respiratory sings (reach up to acuterespiratory sings in some flocks), associated renal sings and PM lesionswere observed in some flocks. High morbidity (90 %), 50 birds /daymortality and caseated plug in the two bronchi was observed in one flockin association with renal lesion (enlarged kidneys, prominent urineferoustubules and distended ureters with urates). Tissue suspension of colletedorgans were subjected to virus isolation in ECE. At least three successiveECE passages were required for each sample to be negative. Eight fieldIBV isolates succeeded to cause curling and dwarfing in addition toaccumulation of urates in mesonephros in some cases. Several passageswere required (3-9) for the previously mentioned isolates. EmbryomortaJities increased with further passages, these findings ensured thatall isolated IB viruses are field and not vaccinal strains since they werenot embryo adapted and did not cause death or produce lesions in theinoculated embryos on the first passages. All the collected 397serum samples evidenced negative whentested by AGP test, these results could be explained that since the virussucceeded in isolation the titer of antibodies will be not high enough tobe detected by AGP test. Concentrated allantoic fluid and CA11 colletedfrom the inoculated CE of the eight virus isolates were reacted positively
