Some pathologic Studies On Growing Ducklings Suffering from Iocomotor Disturbances

Abstract:
The present study was carried out on 300 ducklings aged 1-50 days outof inspecting 13500 ducklings. These cases collected from differentfarms, Sharkia and Kalubia provinces to study, pathological changes dueto locomotor disturbances of (bone, joint, muscles, skin, brain, liver andheart) in correlation to different causes. Bacteriological examinations have been carried out to identifythepossible bacterial agents.Biochemical examinations: have been carried out to identify the level ofvitamin E, Calcium, Phosphorus in serum and ration. Histopathological examination: The collected samples from the bone, joint, muscles, brain, liver, skin and heart were fixed immediately in 10% neutral formalin, solution and prepared for histopathologicaThe gross appearance were swallen joint, dilated and congestedmeningeal blood vessels. The liver showed white necrotic foci on itssurfaces. The skeletal muscles were pale, oedematous and few casesshowed haemorrhagic spots.Microscopically, the bone and joint revealed destruction of the articularsurface with oedema, destruction of muscles and tendon which adhere tothe joint with leucocytic round cells infiltration. Diaphysis showeddestruction of periosteum and periostitis. Haemorrhage, inflammatoryround cells between hyalinized and necrosed muscles and thining of theshaft. Hock joint showed haemorrhage, perivascular edema, degenerationand destruction of ligament.
