Abstract:
Respiratory diseases associated with Mycoplasma gallisepticuminfection is of continuing economic concern to poultry industry throughoutthe world. Control of mycoplasmosis frequently based on intensive use ofantimycoplasmal drugs. Aivlosin is a recent drug introduced in this field.Three hundreds and thirty, one day old, Mycoplasma free male broiler chickens were used in this experimental work. Seventy chicks were kept as normal control group (non infected - non treated) and ten chicks used for confirmation of Mycoplasma free statusThe first experiment: 120 chicks were divided into 6 equal groupseach of 20 chicks:Group 1: Treated with aivlosin 20 mg/kg body weight orally from 1-5 dayof age and samples were collected at 1 week of age.Group 2: Treated with aivlosin 20 mg/kg body weight orally from 1-5 dayof age and samples were collected at 2 week of age.Group 3: Treated with aivlosin 20 mg/kg body weight orally from 1-5 dayof age and samples were collected at 3 week of age.Group 4: Treated with aivlosin 20 mg/kg body weight (therapeutic dose)from 1-5 day of age and another therapeutic dose from 21-25day of age and samples were collected at 4 week of age.
