Abstract:
Moraxella bovis is the most widely recognized cause of infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK) in all cattle raising areas. The disease causes economic loss and the infected animals or carriers without detectable clinical symptoms gave a great chanceconsiderations this work was planned as an attempt to investigate thefollowing points:1) The incidence of moraxella microorganisms between bothapparently healthy cattle and those suffered from infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis. 2) Seroidentification of Mor. bovis by double immunodiffusion andsodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide electrophoresis. 3) The experimental infectivity of the isolated Mor. bovis strains to laboratory animals.4) Detection of the in-vitro antibiotics sensitivity pattern of theisolated strains to choose the highly potent ones recommended to releif such infection F or attaining this goal ocular and nasal secretions swabs werecollected from 225 cattle of different ages bred in different Localities, 138 out of them were apparently healthy, while 87 were suffered from various signs of IBK. These animals were originated from Shobra Shehab Military Breeding Farm, Saft El-Henna
