Abstract:
Comprehensive studies were carried out to investigate some aspectsrelated to the present status of the outbreaks of IBD, since the descriptionof the vvIBD in Egypt in 1989, which was a character in vaccinated ”, chicken farms associated with high morbidity and elevated mortality. Thestudies was done in Sharkia Govemorate and could cover different further aspects including detection, isolation, identification and characterization of!he virus followed by experimental 6-vaccination regimes including live’!BD vaccine of mild and intermediate plus pathogenically types andinactivated IDD oil emulsion inactivated vaccine and discussion of theobtained results. The studies revealed the following points:\. The investigation was done in Sharkia Govemorate chicken farms andincluded 36 IBD outbreaks in 18 localities and included 27 broilerchicks, 7 native Baladi chicks and 2 replacement commercial layerpullets flocks. Mean ages of disease incidence were (35 days) in broiler(38 days) in native Baladi and (38 days) in pullet chicks associated withelevated morbidity and mean mortality of 15%” 25% and 24%respectively. The cause of the disease extended from 6-9 days. Allexamined flocks were vaccinated 1-4 times against IBD as early as 5days of age or as late as 38 days of age, record of only one chicken farmwas not vaccinated against the disease. Vaccination was blindly appliedwithout estimation ofMDA using either mild or intermediate or both oflive IBD vaccines. Biosecurity were suboptimal in all examined farmswhich indicate the need for revising the vaccination schedule forchickens specially for broilers due to partial effectiveness9207Antineoplastic agent are widly used in teh treatment of differenttypes of neoplasm. Three antineoplastic drugs were chosen in ourinvestigation, these drugs include azathioprine, cyclophosphamide andVincristine sulphate. These drugs are used by a wide section of population. Thereforesome metabolic side effects of the prolonged administeration of thesedrugs could be expected.Fourty two males New-zealand white rabbits of the same age (3months), and weighting from 2.25 to 2.75 kg were used in this experiment. All rabbits - were apparently healthy and free from systemic and parasiticdiseases, and supplied the same feeding ration. Those animals were kept u!lder the same environmental conditionsand classified into 4 main groups as follows:Group I:Comprised 6 rabbits received no drug used as control group.Group 11:Contained 12 rabbits receivd azathioprine orally and furthersubdivided into two subgroups, 6 rabbits each:IIa : Received azathioprine orally (0.19 rng/kg) for 30 days.IIb : Received azathioprine orally (0.38 mg/kd) for 30 days.Group Ill:Consists of 12 rabbits adminsitered cyclophosphamide orally andfurther subdivided into two subgroups each one contained 6 rabbits.
