Abstract:
The number of mycological infections is continuously increasing. Since the discovery of the first antifungal azole compounds in 1967. Oral administration of antimycotics open great therapeutic possibilities andpresents some problems. Since compound must be absorbed and certainplasma levels, must be achieved for systemic distribution.The present work was conducted on the effect of two famousantimycotic drugs:Ketoconazole- N izoral.Griseofulvin-ultragriseofulvin.Fifty male New Zealand rabbits were employed in this work. theywere divided into 5 equal groups each group of them contain 10 rabbits.Group I & 11 were administered oral therapeutic and double therapeuticdose daily of Nizoral respectively. Group III & IV administered oraltherapeutic and double therapeutic dose daily of ultragriseofulvinrespectively. Group V used as control.Two animal were sacrificed from each group at the end of the 30thday, 45th day and 60th day of administration. Serum samples werecollected to study the biochemical changes respectively. Tissue specimenfrom liver, kidney and testes were collected for histopathologicaltechniques.
