Some studies on viral respiratory affections in sheep and goats

Abstract:
This study was carried out on (440) sheep and (400) goats from different ages ( young and adult) in different localities of Sharkia governorate. Clinical examination of animals revealedthat 118 sheep and 90 goats were suffered from respiratory symptoms, 59 sheep and 40 goats from them in additionshowed eye lesions. Nasal swabs were collected (208) from diseased animals, in addition lachrymal swabs were collected from 99 sheep and goats showed eye lesions. The collectedswabs were used for trails of isolation and identification of viruses which causing this syndrome. Also 208 paried serum samples were taken from affected animals (118 sheep and 90 goats) the first sampling during fever and the second sampling after 21 daywere applied. 1- The collected swabs were prepared. 2-Inoculation on MDBK tissue culture with inoculum of the collected nasal and lachrymal swabs for virus isolation and identification microscopically and examined daily for the presence of (CPE).
