Studies on paratyphoid infection in native breed fowls

Abstract:
In this investigation, seven hundred and twenty diseased chickens were collected and clinical and postmortem leasions recorded :- Clinical examination of examined specimes showedhuddling together, loss of appetite, DROPpy wings and watery - white diarrhea which pasting the vent.Postmortem examination of collected specimens revealed that the gross lesions were in the form of unabsorbed yolk sac, enlarged and congested liver, spleen and kidneys ,doudenitis and white caecal cores. Sometimes, the liver revealed pinpoint necrotic area with streaks of haemorrhage. Two hundred and thirty six bacterial isolates were obtained byprimary bacterial isolation . The primary isolation incidencewas 32.76%. Two - hundred and thirty six bacteria isolates werebiochemically indentified into non lactose and lactose fermenter in an incidence percentage 83.1% and 16.9%respectively.
