Abstract:
from the public health point of view, medicinal plants are now under consideration. The significance of these plants asantihepatotoxins and liver support has gained increasingattention. There are numerous plants used in folk medicine. Inthis experiment, we choose three plants of clinical importance,DDB that is isolated from the fruit of Schizandra chinese,oil ofNigella sativa and Citrullus colocynthesis.Two hundred and ten adult male albino rats (150-200gm body weight) were obtained from the Laboratory Animal Farm,Faculty Of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University. Theexperimental animals were kept in metal cages under hygienicconditions and received well-balanced commercial ration besidefresh water ad-libitum. The animals were observed for 14 daysbefore the beginning of the experiment.The experimental animals were divided into seven main groups: - Group (1) of 40 rats was left without any treatmentand used as negative control (-ve). Groups (2-7) wereadministered carbon tetrachloride orally at a dose level of onemll rat, one time daily for two months for induction of hepaticfibrosis.
