Abstract:
This study was planned as a trail to detect the incidence ofclostridial isolates in farm animals to identify these isolates andto detect antitoxins produced by Cl. perfringens in both sheepand goats. For attaining these goal 520 samples of sheep origin, 450 samples from goats, 200 samples from cow calves and 322 samples from buffalo calves in addition to 135 serum samples from goats collected from all over Sharkia Govemorate. The obtained data revealed that:(1) from apparently healthy sheep the incidence percentages of theClostridium species was 33.6% while it was 34.4% in slaughtered healthysheep. Such percentage was 6l.7% in diseased sheep. While it was 74% inemergency slaughtered or died sheep.(2) For goats the incidence percentage was 28.4% in apparently healthy and it was 28.95% in slaughtered healthy goats. Such incidence was 43.8% in diseased goats, while it was 48.9% in emergency slaughtered or died goats.(3) For cow calves the incidence percentage was 45.98% in apparentlyhealthy cow calves and 60% in healthy slaughtered calves. while it was83.4% in diseased cow calves and 85% in emergency slaughtered cow calves.(4) For buffalo calves the incidence percentage was 45.3% in apparently healthy buffalo calves and 64.2% in slaughtered healthy buffalo .
