Abstract:
Epidemiological study was conducted in a village representative torural Egyptian village have the same situation of habits andenvironmental condition to clarify the role of EPEe as one of the maincauses of permanent diarrhea in man with new approach to investigatethese organisms from the zoonotic: point of view. And to identify thepossible source of infection and virulent factors associated with EPEestrains isolated’.The study was based on epidemiological investigation including adata concerning age, sex, state of building and hygienic measurements aswell as the virulent factors associated with EPEC strains.A total 438 samples were collected and subjected to laboratoryinvestigation (240 men, 68 animals, 43 birds), 47 different food items and/ v40 water samples used by man.The households were divided into 5 division: 57 infants, 85 children,38 adolescent, 31 youth and 29 adults, each division was fourthlysubdivided into two main sub division, 196 apparently healthy roan (94males and 1 02 females), 44 diarrheic patients (18 males and 26 females);and 68 animals (19 Sheep, 29 Cow, 14 Buffaloes, 5 Donkey and one’Camel), 43 bird samples (19 Chicken, 16 Duck, 7 Pigeon and Rabbit), 47food and 40 water samples.The obtained results were summarized as followed:
