Abstract:
A total of 440 samples collected from diseased and apparently healthy animals, birds and fishes were cultured onto SDA with chloramphenicol for mycological examination for the presence of yeasts.from diseased animals, birds and fish the results showed thafrom 220 apparently normal cases, 100 yeast isolates wereobtained (45.50/0).Out of 100 milk samples obtained from mastitic cows, 29 isolates of yeasts were obtained and grouped into 3 genera as:Candida (25), including C. albicans (9), C. tropicalis (8), C. parapsilosis (5) and C. krusei (3), one isolate of Trichosporon identifiedForm 10 milk samples obtained from normal udder, only one yeast isolate obtained and identified as C.tropicaiisOut of 30 faecal samples of diarrhoeic calves, 12 isolates of yeasts were obtained and grouped into 2 genera as Candida (11)including C. albicans (2), C. tropicalis (1), C. krusei (2), C. kefyer (l ), C. rugosa (1) and un identified Candida spp. (4) andSaccharomyces (l) was identified as S. cervisae.
