Abstract:
The main aim of this thesis is immunological studies on the efficiencyof some sheep pox strains using in Egypt to protect goat against pox disease, and the experiments can be summarized in the following points :Titratin of RSPV vaccine in lambs and gave a titre of 104.36 SID50/ml.Titratin of KSGPV vaccine in vero cells and gave a titre of 105.34ICID50/ml.Groups of lambs and kids were vaccinated by RSPV vaccine andKSPV vaccine and found that the groups of susceptible lambs andkids whose vaccinated with RSPV vaccine exhibited post vaccinalreactions in the fonn of redness, hotness, swelling at the site ofvaccination, and slight rise of body temp erature , but the other 2groups of susceptible such animals that received KSGPV vaccineshowed only slight post vaccinal reaction in the form of only slightincrease of body temperature.Challenging of the previously vaccinated animals one-month post-vaccination, resulted in a good protection against the virulent strainsof the pox viruses, while the unvaccinated control lambs and kidsgave the clinical signs of the pox disease when inoculated by thevirulent pox viruses. The humoral immune response evaluated in both vaccinated lambsand kids by SNT, ELISA and AGPT found that the neutralizingantibody level started to appear from the 1 st week P. V and reached itspeak at the 3rd and 4th week P.V., while post challenge (P.C.)
