Abstract:
Pasteurellosis as a debilitating disease occur in man and many animals, the disease arised either as endogenous or exogenous infection with P. multocida microorganisms which normallyinhibitant their host that become infective under certain environmental stress factors. So this study was done to detect the incidence rate, the morphological and biochemical criteria of diagnosis and the recent diagnostic methods employed to detect suchmicroorganisms both in apparently healthy and diseased chickens. allover Sharkia Govemorate including Governmental and private farms. The obtained data revealed that the incidence rate of P. multocida which was isolated from apparently healthy broiler and breeders chickens was (11 %) while it was (14%) in diseased broiler and breeder chickens. With regard to morphological and biochemical criteria, the obtained data revealed that all isolates were belonged to P. multocida colonies that gave their characteristic morphological features and biochemical reactions. The serodiagnsois of P. multocida by using Agar gel immunodiffusion technique indicated that the apparently healthy broilers and breeders chickens showed positive results representingin the development of specific precipitin band between the tested
