Bacteriological problems in broiler farms and Its Relation With Productivity

Abstract:
A total of 245 samples were collected from two commercial broiler farms at Sharkia, Egypt, including 203 organ samples from 49 morbid birds in addition to 42 environmental samples (water, ration and litter, 14 each). E.coli was isolated by percentage of 3Meanwhile Salmonellae were isolated by percentage of 42% from the first farm while it was failed to be detected in the second farm. Overall incidence of Proteus species, Citrobacter species, Pseudomonas-species, Enterobacter species, Edwardsiella species,Regarding the serotyped E. coli strains in relation to a total of 42 E. coli isolates, it was found that 0119: K69, 055:K59, 0111 :K58, 086:K61 and untypable, were identified with the percentage of 4.8, 14.3, 19,23.8 and 38.1, respectively. The virulence,prevalence was found with the age of 6th week (32.6%) and the lowestfrequency in both 2nd and 5th week of age (6.5% both). Salmonella was
