Some Studies on Skin Affections in Equines With Special Reference to Similar Group in Zoo

Abstract:
A total number of three hundreds ninty four of same genes of equines and related zoo animals were selected and examined for studying the skin diseases affecting these animals.Out of which three hundreds and seventeen animals (ninty horses,one hundred and thirty donkeys, seventy five mules and twenty twoponies) were suffered from skin diseases, the rest of seventy seven(twenty two horses, twenty two donkeys, twenty two mules and eleven ponies) were used as control.All animals were examined clinically, mycologically, - bacteriologically, parasitologyically (for mange), allergic dermatitis(sweet itch, summer eczema) urticarial incidence and for the presence for internal parasites as strongylus and ascariasis.In addition, there was an experimental part for the induction of urticaria among selected number of equines using different agents in the form of intradermal injections of allergens as penicillin and cattle serumas well as feeding on some poisonous plants and lastely an application oforganophosphorous compounds as insecticides.All selected animals were examined for internal parasites, one hundered and twenty animals were suffering from these parasites.
