Clinicopathological studies on experimentally infested laboratory animals with echinococcus granulosus

Abstract:
Eighty male Newzealand rabbits were used in two experiments. The first experiment consist of 35 rabbits., 15 of them were injected 12.500 hydatid scolices (Gp. I), others 15 were injected 5 ml hydatid fluid (Gp. I1)and the remaining five rabbits were used as control (Gp. Ill). Secondexperiment included 45 rabbits, 40 of them were orally administered cclz for2 months, then divided into four groups Group IV of 10 rabbits and remained as cirrhotic control, group V of 15, injected hydatid scolices, group VI of 15, injected hydatid fluid and the remaining five rabbits were orally administered liquid paraffm and uhypochromic anaemia with reticulocytosis. This regenerative anaemia was attributed to the toxic material in the hydatid scolices and hydatid fluid. Leucocytosis with heterophilia, shift to left, eosinophilia, lymphocytosis andmonocytopenia were also seen.The clinicobiochemical analysis showed a picture of hepatocellulardamage and cholestasis. the hepatocellular damage was manifested by an
