Abstract:
In this study, one hundred and fifty baby chicks were collected fromtwenty broiler and balady flocks from different localities at Sharkia Province during two years of investigation. One hundred were in diseased conditions while the remaining were freshly dead. The collected birds were examined in Dept. of Poultry and FishA total of 226 bacterial isolates could be isolated from examined birdsand identified into 93 strains E. coli; 50 strains Klebsiella; 33 strainsProteus; 22 strains Staphylococcus aureus; 15 strains Salmonella and 13strains Ps. aeruginosa.Forty out of 93 strains of E. coli could be identified serologically into7 strains (0128); 5 strains (0125); 5 strains (026); 5 strains (02); 4 strains (0124); 3 strains (053); 3 strains (011); 2 strains (085); 2 strains (03); 2strains (08) and 2 strains (042) while the remaining could not be identified.Nine out of 15 strains of Salmonella spp. could be identifiedserologically into 7 strains Salmonella gallinarum-pullorum;2 strainsSalmonella paratyphi B while the remaining could not be identified.The mortality rates in E. coli; Ps. aeruginosa and Staphylococcusaureus inoculated birds were 0%, 50%; 0%, 60% and 0%, 40% in non-bursectomized birds which were inoculated by spray, posterior air sac;
