Abstract:
A flatoxins are one of the most food contaminant in developing countries and usually result in severe economic losses in exposed fish and serious damage for the consuming such fish.Seventy samples of fish diet and 150 samples from different fishspecies were obtained from private and govemomentaJ fresh waterfish farms at Sharkia province were used to determine the prevalenceof aflatoxins in diet and its residues in fish flesh. Beside 240 C.1azeraranged from 150-200 g b.w. These were used for experimental studythe effect of crude aflatoxin on those fish. The effect of detoxificationof the aflatoxicated diet to control the aflatoxicosis in C.lazera isanother objective. The obtained results revealed that: 1. Prevalence of a flatoxin in fish diet collected from private farms, EI- Tal El-Kabeer, Abbassa fish hatchery and CLAR was 42.85, 41.66, 40 and 35.29%, respectively. The quantity of aflatoxin in exafrom which 30%, 18% and 24%, were detected in O.nilaticllS,Cicarpio L. and C.lazera, respectively. The quantity of aflatoxinresidues in flesh of those fishes were 98-660, 42-420 and] 8-340ppb, respectively over the permissible level, 20 ppb, I?AO. 3. The mortality rate among C.lazera 1P injected with lf and 2.0 mg crude aflatoxin/kg b. w. through 10 days was 70 and 1000/0,
