Abstract:
Production of M. rosenbergii seeds with high quality and uniform in size is the main aim to supply the aquaculture industry. So this investigationwas carried out to through a light on the problems facing the reproduction ofthis fresh water prawn. A total of 240 adults fresh water prawn were used to discribe the features and identify on the M. rosenbergi i, as well as studying the effect of sex ratio and different types of food on the survivability, fertility (number offemales carrying eggs) and fecundity of this species. Beside 20000 of larvaeobtained from these adult prawn were used to determine the effect of larvaldensity, different food, and water salinity, temperature and addition ofprophylatic antibiotics on the survivability and metamorphosis of M.rosenbergii larvae.
