Effect of Monensin, B-carotene, and GnRH on reproduction in buffalo cows

Abstract:
Postpartum period, starting from parturition passing through first ovulation, restored luteal function and detected heat, until subsequent conception is a crucial window of time during the reproductive life of the animal. Stemmed from this context, the cu1- REPRODUCTIVE EFFICIENCY IN BUFFALOES: A- Uterine involution:~-carotene supplementation; 300 mg/head/day orally given once daily for 100 days postpartum, intramuscular injection of GnRH; 20 ug/animal given once on the 20th day postpartum and oral supplementation of ~-carotene; 300 mg/head/day given once daily for 1complete uterine involution; 26.00 ± 1.47, 28.00 ± OA1 and 23.33 ± 0.62 daysrespectively compared with vitamin A group; 37.65 ± 2.55 days.Monensin supplementation; 200 mg/head/day orally given once daily for 100 days postpartum did not significantly affect uterine involution compared with greendiet (29.65 ± 2.66 vs. 34.50 ± 1.44).
