Abstract:
In this study a total number of 1680 ornamental fish were collected fromdifferent localities. from which 800 ornamental fish (405 egglayers and 395livebearer fish) were examined to study the main parasitic and mycotic diseasesaffecting ornamental fish. The prevalence rate, clinical signs, post-mortemlesions and histopathological alteration were recorded. Also treatment trials ofsome diseases were conducted. Also 80 Fantail fish (40 infested with white spotdisease and 40 infested with Trichodiniasis and M.onogeniasis) used in trials oftreatment after parasitological examination. The other 800 ornamental fish wereused to determine the effect of water salinity, detergents and starvation on healthand survival of ornamental fish.If Survey on the main parasitic and mycotic diseases of ornamental fish1. The results of this study revealed that, 445 ornamental fish were suffered fromparasitic and mycotic diseases with the rate of 55.62%. from which 245egglayers with the rate of 60.5% and 200 livebearer with the rate of 50.6% werediseased.
