Abstract:
In this study a total of 203 animals (123 sheep and 80 goats ) of different ages , sexes and breeds were examined in Almothalath regoin ( Shalatein, Abu-Ramad and Halaieb ) for studying for the first time in that areas the proportion of isolation rate of goats.258 samples from sheep and 163 samples from goats were subjected to primary isolation of mycomplasmas. The isolation rate of mycoplasmaspecies was 31 % ( 80 isloates out of 258 samples) from 150 healthy and108 diseased sheep samples. The isolates obtained from apparently healthy sheep were 22 isolates from 150 samples ( 15 isolates from nasal swabs, 5 ”isolates from conjunctival swabs and 2 from lung tissues) .The isolatesobtained from diseasd shee» were 58 isolates out of 108 ( 18 isolates fromnasal swabs, 34 from conjunctival swabs, 3 isolates out of 4 samples fromlung tissues, and 3 isolates out of 8 samples from milk ). The rate ofmycoplasma isolation from diseased sheep was high from pneumonic lung( 75% ) followed conjunctival swabs ( 70. 83% ) with equal isolation ratefrom nasal swabs and milk ( 37 . 50 % ) . The isolation rate from samplesof goats was 33.12 % ( 54 isolates out of 163 samples) from 103 healthyand 60 diseased goat samples. These isolates were 21 out of 103 samplesobtained from apparently healthy goats ( 11 isolates from nasal swabs and10 isolates from conjunetival swabs ), and 33 isolates out of 60 samplesfrom diseased goats. The isolates obtained from diseased goats were 33 out of 60 samples ( 19 isolates from nasal swabs, 1 0 isolates from cojunctival swabs 2 from lung tissues and 2 from milk samples) .
