Abstract:
In this study, Cr. picolinate was orally given in the form of a drench in a dose level of 3/-Lgikg. b. wt. of bucks daily for 4 successive weeks. Two blood samples were collected weeklyfor 6 successive weeks ( 4 weeks treatment & two weeks posttreatment from each animal) . The first blood sample was used for studying the effect of Cr. pie on the blood picture whereas, the second one was used for separation of serum forestimating some liver and kidney functions , total proteinsalbumin and globulins, cholesterol & triglycerides , Ca2+, P andMg 2+ and some hormones. Semen samples were collected on the first day, first and second week post drug administration for studying the effect of Cr. pie on semen physical characters. After slaughtering of animals at the end of the experiment,tissue samples were taken from liver, kidney, heart, spleen, testes, prostate and seminal vesicle to study thehistopathological changes if any of Cr. picolinate. The results were summarized as follows: Effect on blood picture :The total RBCs and WBCs counts were significantly increased on the third & fourth week of treatment as well asafter first two weeks post drug treatment. whereas, non significant changes were recorded on first two weeks post drug administration.
