Abstract:
Ninety balady chickens of 60 days old were divided into 7 groups tostudy the pathological findings in vaccinated chickens with some fowlcholera vaccines and challenged post vaccination with Pasteurellamultocida. These chickens were divided into 7 groups. Groups 1,4 and 7consisted of 10 chickens in each group, while groups 2,3,5 and 6 consistedof 15 chickens in each group. Each chicken in groups 1, 2 and 3 wasvaccinated with 0.5 ml from the oil adjuvant vaccine. one month later, eachchicken in group 3 was given boaster dose. The vaccinated chickens werechallenged with virulent strains of P. multocida, 2 weeks after the firstvaccination in group 2 and 10 days after the boaster dose in group 3. Thechickens were sacrificed 5, 10 and 15 days PV in group 1 or PC in groups 2and 3. The chickens in groups 4,5 and 6 were treated as groups 1,2 and 3respectively by using the live avirulent vaccine via the wing web routeThe chickens in group 7 were infected intramuscularly with virulent P.multocida and sacrificed 5, 10 and 15 days PI.The mortality rates were 6.7%, 10%, 20% and 100% in chickens ofgroups 2,4,5 and 7 respectively. The detectable clinical signs in theprevious groups were depression, anorexia, greenish or yellowish diarrheaand some respiratory manifestations.
