Some Ectoparasites Of Goats

In the present study, 823 (out of 1059) Eyptian goats in Dakahlia Governorate were infested by 12 species of ectoparasites (4 suckling lice, 3 biting lice, 4 mites and 1 species offleas). The sucking lice were Linogathus vituli, L. ovvilus. L. africanus aautumn (52.76%, 52.220/0 and 50.77%) repectively. The mites were psoroptes cuniculi, sarcoptes scabiei, Tyrophagusputrescentide and tyrolichus casei oudemansy. And their infestation ratewas during winter, spring, autumn and summer (7.88%,4.18%,3.08% and l.97%) respectively. Finally the only species of fleas reacorded on goats wasctenocephalides canis. With percentage of infestation ranging between 10% in autumn and 25.07% in spring.Experimental trials to transmit psoroptes cuniculi from infested goats to sheep and rabbits were failed.Trials to cure goats infested with sarcoptes scabiei and Tyrophagusputrescentiae with Diazinon 1 ml per liter used on affected area topically,ivermectin in dose of 1 cm/50 kg. Sub/cut and sulphour ointment 10%.
