Abstract:
A total number of 120 lambs (Balady breed), their ages rangedfrom one day to six months, were selected from different localitiesincluding Hehia farm at Sharkia govemorate and Moshtoher farm atKaliobia govemorate.Clinical examination was conducted systematically on all lambswith special attention to temperature, pulse and respiration rates, skinelasticity, state of appetite, body condition and gait.Parasitological examination of faecal samples obtained from’ allanimals was performed. In addition to that, faecal swabs fromdiarrhoeic lambs were collected directly from the rectum under stricthygienic measures and subjected for bacteriological examination withspecial reference to the enterobactericae group.Blood and serum samples were taken from all lambs forhaematological and biochemical studies. Also blood smears were takento decide the presence or absence of blood parasites. After clinical, parasitological examinations, blood analysis andbacterial laboratory confirmations, the examined lambs were classifiedaccording to their physiological and pathological conditions into thefollowing groups:Group I: include on (20) lambs proved to be clinically healthy andparasitic free. (control group).Group 11: include on (25) rachitic lambs, which by turn subdividedinto two subgroups according to Ca to Ph. ratio in additionto presence or absence of apparent clinical symptoms:
