Prenatal And Transmammary Transmission Of Some Parasites

The present work was carried out to explore the possibilityoftransplacental and transmammary transmission of some parasitic nematodes such as Trichinella spiralis, Toxascaris leonina, Toxocara canis and Toxocara vitulorum in natural and laboratory animalsA- Trichinella spiralis: Placentae, foeti and mammary glands of naturally infected sows with Trichinella spiralis, slaughtered in Cairo abattoir were examined for the presence of Trichinella spiralis larvae bydigestion, compression and histopathological techniques. Trichinella spiralis larvae were detected in the mammary glands but not in the other organs.
